    1. Digital Operations & Catalog Manager, D2C | New York, NY

    Summary

    Carhartt WIP is seeking a highly meticulous, data-focused and strategic Digital Operations & Catalog Manager to join our North America team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing back-end digital business operations and workflows, ensuring seamless technical operations, data accuracy and channel performance. You will be the functional expert in D2C product data management, owning the operational setup, integrity and structure of our digital product catalog and related integrations for Ecommerce and Retail POS. You will effectively collaborate across multiple teams (ecommerce, retail, digital, customer service, IT, logistics + external partners) to support innovation initiatives, including Omnichannel, AI Automations & Agentic Commerce, to help scale our digital operations to meet evolving business goals. This position requires strong technical acumen (system integrations, data flows, API concepts) and deep Shopify expertise in a multichannel environment. The person should have an inquisitive entrepreneurial spirit, be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing digital environment, always leading with operational excellence. The role is based in New York with an in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday, reporting to the Head of Ecommerce.

    Core Responsibilities

    D2C Digital Operations & Omnichannel

    • Own and evolve all daily back-end operational functions of the Shopify OMS for Ecommerce, Retail POS and Omnichannel, including: product data management, flows, shipping configurations, inventory alignment across locations, gift cards, payment providers, bulk data import/export processes.
    • Oversee and maintain connected systems, syncs and apps critical to our D2C business and customer experience (ERP, PIM, CDN, CRM, Returns, Merchandising, Product Feeds, Flow automations).
    • Act as the primary liaison for issue escalation and resolution for Shopify-related product data and workflows with Ecommerce, Retail POS, Customer Service, Logistics, IT, and Omnichannel teams.
    • Work closely with the Digital/E-commerce team to support site deployments, promotional execution, and data-driven site optimizations
    • Coordinate digital launches, ensuring channel stock availability, product data readiness, and timely execution; anticipate business needs and mitigate risk for high volume periods.
    • Generate weekly, monthly and seasonal performance reporting and hindsights on key operational KPIs and SLAs.
    • Establish end-to-end workflow automations leveraging internal systems using existing solutions and low/no-code platforms.
    • Track and communicate the impact of automation efforts using practical metrics (e.g., time saved, cycle time reduction, error reduction).
    • Stay current with platform updates and feature releases to identify optimization opportunities; maximize native features in 3rd party tools to improve efficiency and performance.
    • Use an understanding of basic retail economics to support business decisions with performance-focused recommendations, constantly seeking opportunities to improve processes.

    Product Catalog Ownership & Lifecycle Management

    • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle within the Shopify digital catalog, including ingestion, new launches, updates, seasonal creation, and end-of-life/archiving processes.
    • Ensure accuracy and consistency across customer-facing product data, pricing, imagery, and availability across regional storefronts before publishing products live.
    • Oversee integrations with upstream parent HQ systems, and manage manual bulk data uploads (via Matrixify); conduct ongoing audits of site catalogs.
    • Own the synchronization of catalog data across storefronts, POS, third-party integrations and marketplaces; liaise with partners to ensure accurate data mapping and inventory syncing.
    • Apply, manage, and evolve the scalable classification system (translations, taxonomy, attributes), to align with merchandising, traditional SEO performance, and customer experience goals.
    • Support Agentic Commerce and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) initiatives by structuring and enriching product metadata (titles, descriptions, schema-like attributes) to ensure the catalog is accurately surfaced by Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative search engines.
    • Act as the subject matter expert on product data for the organization, assisting in data mapping and troubleshooting system issues.
    • Document catalog workflows and recommend areas for process innovation and scalability, assisting the team in implementing best practices for catalog management.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in business, data science, engineering, or a related discipline.
    • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in eCommerce Data Management, Catalog Management, or Digital Merchandising, preferably in a D2C retail environment.
    • Proven functional proficiency with Shopify back-end operations, including product management (meta objects, combined listings etc), inventory configuration, bulk data import/export processes, APIs, Flow, analytics and app ecosystem.
    • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, APIs, webhooks, event-driven workflows. Comfort working closely with engineering and IT teams.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of retail taxonomy principles, product attribution architecture, and familiarity with how product metadata impacts on-site search and filtering capabilities, and SEO.
    • Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for handling, validation, manipulation, and auditing of large product datasets (VLOOKUPS, if/and logic formulas, pivot tables, macros).
    • Experience establishing automations via native tooling, with focus on reducing manual effort.
    • Ability and willingness to learn and adopt new LLM structured data requirements, adapting our product model to enrich metadata as the AI landscape evolves.
    • Strong critical thinking mindset. Must have the ability to question the status quo and consider “outside the box” solutions.
    • Systematic and efficient: You don’t like to solve the same problem twice, are always looking for reusable solutions, and create well-documented systems and procedures rather than approaching each new problem in isolation.
    • Detail-oriented, proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a consistently high level of accuracy with the ability to reprioritize quickly.
    • A self-starting and proactive attitude with a high degree of independence. Must possess a strong sense of ownership and accountability for data accuracy and process outcomes.
    • Thrive as a team player who contributes ideas and enhances others’ concepts
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; provide clear, timely updates on catalog status.
    • Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as Celigo, n8n, Make, Zapier or similar.
    • Experience with project management tools such as Asana or JIRA is preferred.
    • Experience working with a PIM (e.g., Akeneo, Salsify) system a plus
    • Previous experience in fashion retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel projects is a plus.

    Additional Information

    • Location: Full time at our Soho NY office. Hybrid work schedule, mandated to be in office Tuesday through Thursday.
    • Reporting Structure: Direct report to the Head of Ecommerce, Digital, and Technology - North America.
    • Compensation: $85K - $95K

    Summary

    Carhartt WIP is seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate to work at their New York City retail store. The ideal candidate will provide a positive store experience for our customers and possess strong product knowledge in order to meet sales targets.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Engage and connect with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
    • Execute on-floor, in-person, sales strategies.
    • Share product knowledge with customers to maximize sales.
    • Engage with customers to build relationships and brand knowledge.
    • Maintain knowledge of seasonal collections and current available inventory.
    • Assist with daily opening and closing tasks to maintain a clean, neat, and tidy store.
    • Merchandise, stock the sales floor, process payments.
